Build Your Brand Through Blogging!

Why We Blog?

Blogging is an easy and accessible way to spread the news, share your expertise, drive traffic, and use your keywords! A company that provides some type of blog whether is daily, weekly or monthly has a much better shot at landing clients then one that doesn’t blog or doesn’t blog consistently.

Like all things in marketing, consistency is KING! Most people quit their blog after the first 2 or 3 blog posts don’t “put them on the map”. Don’t treat it as work, reward yourself with a trip to Starbucks with your laptop, plug in your headphones and escape while you write or plan your next video blog.

Blogging Tips

The first thing I suggest people do is to get a blog compatible website. that can be done for free to wordpress.org, or on Tumblr. Facebook and other social media are NOT blogging platforms but they can be very effective in promoting your blog.

Second, determine your medium. Each Medium has its merits and drawbacks.

  • Video Blogging
    • People respond more to visual content, this means they are more likely to act on any calls to action you might make.
    • Sites like youtube allow you to reach millions of potential viewers with strong Video SEO!
    • Build a strong personality for your brand!
  • Written Blogs
    • Establish yourself as an expert to not only potential customers/colleagues but also to GOOGLE!
    • Promote your products or service because your blog and your website are one and the same.
    • The perfect medium for those who are camera shy!

Third, stats don’t matter for the first year. With software like google analytics and facebook pixel, we can really tell how unpopular our blogs are! Don’t pay attention to your analytics for at least the first year. This is how you get demoralized and quit blogging and lose consistency! If it helps for awhile think of blogging as a way of improving your on-site SEO.

Fourth, be yourself. Embrace your strengths and weaknesses. A blog about something you are struggling with may be the one that takes your business to the next level. You don’t always have to be the expert. Use your blog to reach out to someone who knows more about a topic than you or share something you really screwed up Maybe you tried to replace some drywall and screwed it up royally! This is important as it will be fun, and create engagement from people who know more than you about drywall! Then their friends will see what they posted on your blog, and you’ll gain more views/engagement!

Lastly, don’t take it on alone! If you work with your wife, have a business partner, marketing guy, or a great salesman have them take over some of the blogging! They may know specific steps or aspects of the business as well, or better than you! Let their voice be heard on your blog and they are more likely to share it with family and friends bringing on even more viewers and potential customers!

When you’re blogging it is best to break each blog into very specific smaller segments. This can turn 12 blog ideas into 50 and make your life a little easier!

Why do I need to Post 3-5 times a DAY?!?<<
